Celebrating the Holy Theophany at St Irene Orthodox Mission Centre
6th January

The Manifestation of God in the Jordan

Today, St Irene Orthodox Mission Centre joyfully marked the great Feast of the Holy Theophany, a sacred celebration that reveals the mystery of God’s presence among humanity. Theophany means the manifestation of God. On this holy day, our Lord Jesus Christ entered the waters of the Jordan River, and as He emerged, the heavens were opened. The Holy Spirit descended upon Him, and the voice of God the Father was heard saying, This is My beloved Son; listen to Him. In this divine moment, God was revealed in His fullness as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (the Holy Trinity) calling all people to repentance, renewal, and new life.

Worship, Welcome, and New Beginnings

The feast was beautifully celebrated through the Divine Liturgy, accompanied by baptismal hymns that reminded us how Christ sanctified the waters and bestowed grace upon all creation. The atmosphere was filled with reverence, thanksgiving, and joy as we all gathered in prayers.

On this blessed day, we also warmly welcomed new children into our mission family. Their arrival marks a new chapter of hope and responsibility, as we commit ourselves to nurturing them in love, faith, education, and Godly values. Their smiles and innocence added a special grace to the celebration, reminding us of Christ’s words that the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Fellowship, Joy, and Shared Meals

After the liturgical celebrations, we came together in fellowship, sharing meals, songs, and moments of joy. This time of togetherness strengthened our bonds as one family in Christ and reflected the living Church where worship continues through love, sharing, and unity.

Walk With Us in Love and Service

As we celebrate the Holy Theophany and embrace new beginnings at St Irene Orthodox Mission Centre, we invite you to walk with us in this sacred mission. Your prayers, visits, material support, and financial contributions help us provide shelter, education, nourishment, and spiritual guidance to the children entrusted to our care.

Join us in being instruments of God’s love.
Support the mission. Pray for the children. Share our story.

Together, let us reflect the light of Christ revealed at Theophany and transform lives through faith, compassion, and service.

Glory to God who has revealed Himself for our salvation.
