The Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa has joyfully elected Archimandrite Mugadizi Philip as the new Bishop-Elect of the Orthodox Diocese of Kisumu and Western Kenya. This significant appointment recognizes a devoted servant of God who has consistently demonstrated humility in his walk of faith, integrity in his leadership, and commitment to teaching the principles of the Orthodox faith. Bishop-Elect Mugadizi is not only a devoted priest but also a seasoned scholar and leader. He has faithfully served as a Senior Lecturer, where his wisdom and pastoral heart have shaped countless minds and souls. His journey in education and ministry reveals a rare blend of intellectual excellence and spiritual depth, a proof that true leadership flourishes when knowledge and humility walk hand in hand.
A man of many callings, he is skilled in Nonprofit Leadership, Volunteer Management, Curriculum Development, Public Speaking, and Pastoral Care. Yet above all, he is known for his quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering devotion to the Orthodox faith.

His academic journey is as admirable as his spiritual one. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Leadership and Management from St. Paul’s University and a Master of Divinity from St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, one of the most esteemed Orthodox institutions in the world.
These credentials are more than mere achievements; they are milestones in a lifelong pursuit to serve God with both wisdom and integrity.
