Visiting His Eminence Archbishop Makarios
Yesterday was a day of deep joy and gratitude as I officially visited His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Kenya and Exarch of East Africa. To us at St. Irene Orthodox Mission Centre, His Eminence is more than a shepherd—he is a true father to our children. His fatherly love, encouragement, and spiritual covering continue to give us strength as we walk this journey of faith and service.
The purpose of my visit was to update him on the progress of our Mission Centre. With every brick laid, every child educated, and every prayer offered, we are seeing God’s hand at work. None of this would be possible without the blessings and guidance of His Eminence, who has always stood with us, not only as a leader of the Church but as a father whose heart beats for the little ones at St. Irene.
Recently, I had the opportunity to travel to the United States, a journey made possible through His Eminence’s blessings. That mission abroad opened my eyes to the global family that cares deeply about our children, and it gave us renewed courage to dream bigger for St. Irene’s. It reminded me that this calling is not ours alone it belongs to God and to all who believe that love can transform lives.
As I shared our progress with His Eminence, I felt a deep sense of gratitude. We are not walking this road alone. With his prayers and with the support of kind-hearted friends and partners, we are building something beautiful a place where children can find not only education and shelter, but also love, hope, and the embrace of Christ.
Long live His Eminence Archbishop Makarios! May God grant him many years in peace, health, and strength. And may we, inspired by his fatherly example, continue to give our very best for the children God has entrusted to us.
Together, with your prayers and support, the light of St. Irene’s will keep shining. 🌿🙏
