Celebrating Motherhood and Faith
At St. Irene Orthodox Mission Centre, we believe that mothers are the heart of every family and the pillars of faith within the Church. This August 8, 2026, we invite you to be part of a special gathering; the St. Irene Philoptochos Mothers Union Seminar, themed “Strengthening Orthodox Families — pastoral formation for mothers.”
Why This Seminar Matters
Our patron saint, St. Irene, was a woman of deep compassion and unwavering faith. Her life reminds us that nurturing families in Christ is not only a calling but a sacred ministry. Hosting this seminar under her patronage is a celebration of her legacy, empowering women to lead with love, prayer, and service.
What You Can Expect
The seminar will focus on four pillars that define Orthodox family life:
- Faith: Deepening our relationship with Christ through prayer and spiritual guidance.
- Family: Building strong, loving, and united homes rooted in Orthodox values.
- Service: Learning how to serve the Church and community with humility and joy.
- Fellowship: Strengthening bonds of sisterhood, encouragement, and mutual support.
It’s more than a seminar, It’s a spiritual renewal for mothers who carry the light of Christ into their homes and communities.

How You Can Support
You can be part of this mission in several ways:
- Attend the seminar and share in the fellowship and learning.
- Sponsor a mother who may not have the means to attend.
- Contribute resources from refreshments to educational materials that will enrich the event.
- Spread the word among your parish and friends to help more mothers experience this transformative day.
Every act of support helps strengthen Orthodox families and honors the spirit of St. Irene a woman whose faith continues to inspire generations.
