The Enthronement of His Grace Bishop Philip of Kisumu and Western Kenya
Witnessing a New Dawn of Spiritual Leadership
Like the rising sun that gently paints the sky with new light, today the Diocese of Kisumu beheld a radiant dawn, one woven with grace and unity. At St. Andrew Gimengwa, the faithful gathered to witness a moment that will forever shine in the spiritual memory of Western Kenya.

This blessed morning, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios presided over the Holy and Divine Liturgy, concelebrating with His Eminence Geronimos, His Eminence Innocentios, His Eminence Neofitos, His Grace Bishop Nectarios, His Grace Bishop Constantine, and His Grace Bishop Philipos. The altar was encircled by the brotherhood of bishops, their unity a living icon of apostolic love and continuity.
The Liturgy blossomed with colour and reverence as priests and parishioners from across Western Kenya and Nairobi gathered as one family offering prayers, hymns, and thanksgiving with a shared heart. Truly, it was a divine tapestry woven by faith, devotion, and fraternity.

Following the Liturgy, the sacred moment of enthronement unfolded. With solemnity and hope, the faithful witnessed His Grace Bishop Philipos take up the pastoral mantle as the spiritual father and shepherd of the Diocese of Kisumu. It was a moment heavy with grace, yet light with joy—a visible reminder that the Church is ever renewed through the guidance of her appointed shepherds.

This day marks the beginning of a new chapter, one guided by humility, strengthened by prayer, and enlightened by the grace of the Holy Spirit. As His Grace steps into this holy responsibility, the Diocese receives him with profound respect, love, and unwavering support.
May the Lord grant him wisdom, fortitude, and a heart ever aflame with compassion. May his ministry bear abundant fruit for the glory of God and the edification of His people.
May God grant His Grace many blessed years of service.
